Tree Planting Day 2018

Once a year the Community Orchard has a tree-planting day and this year it was on Remembrance Sunday, 11th November 2018, the centenary anniversary of the WW1 armistice.

We are very proud of our designation as a Centenary Field in Trust - it connects us to the past when the land was given to the Council during the First World War for local people to grow food in a time of shortage; it connects us to the future by protecting the land in perpetuity for the benefit of the community.

This year 15 trees were planted to celebrate new lives and in memory of loved ones.
