Sunday 11th November 2018
9 am - Noon
Once a year the Community Orchard has a tree-planting day and this year it is on Remembrance Sunday, 11th November 2018.
We are very proud of our designation as a Centenary Field in Trust and this year’s tree planting day takes place in this very special First World War Centenary Year.
Our Centenary Field in Trust status connects us to the past when the land was given to the Council during the First World War for local people to grow food in a time of shortage; it connects us to the future by protecting the land in perpetuity for the benefit of the community.
On our tree planting days, families come to help plant their trees and remember their loved ones. This year we will be reflecting on this First World War Centenary and our connection with it. We will have a minute of silence at 11 am.
